The University of California, Santa Cruz Library invites applications for an innovative, energetic and collaborative Assistant/Associate University Librarian for Collections and Library Information Systems (AUL/CLIS).

The position is a member of the Library's senior management team and has overall responsibility for Library collections, including collection development, the collection budget; acquisitions, cataloging, metadata creation, and serials management; digitization projects, preservation, and scholarly communication; and information systems. In addition, this position provides leadership for the Digital Library Program (DLP) which is dedicated to the production, maintenance, delivery, and preservation of a wide range of high-quality networked resources for scholars and students.

The AUL/CLIS will provide vision, direction, and leadership within the library, the UCSC campus, and the University of California library system as the Library redefines its collections and technical services operations in the context of emerging trends in scholarly communication, digital initiatives, shared collections, and the development of next-generation bibliographic and information systems.

The UCSC Library uses the Innovative Interfaces Inc. (III) ILS and has collections of approximately 2.2 million volumes, more than 44,000 serials, two library buildings, and a staff of approximately 100. The UCSC Library has the most intensely used collection in the UC system.

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience with a minimum starting salary of $88,000.
