Two Tenure-Track Faculty Positions

Positions: The Indiana University School of Library Science-Indianapolis announces two tenure-track faculty openings in the following areas:
·         collection development and management
·         application and management of information technologies in library and information   environments
·         school library media (SLM)
·         digital asset management
 
Additional materials and recommendations are required for a tenured associate professor appointment.

Both positions are ten-month, tenure-track appointments with the option to teach up to two summer courses at 20% of base salary.

Responsibilities: Candidates should be willing and able to adapt to new instructional delivery systems through interactive television and online learning environments; experience with these technologies is preferred. The Indianapolis campus provides faculty support for innovations in instructional delivery with advanced networking capabilities.  Full time faculty members are responsible for coordinating adjunct faculty who teach in their core curriculum area(s).

Qualifications: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in LIS or a relevant field is required. An MLS degree is preferred for both positions.

The successful candidates should be prepared to join the faculty by August 1, 2012.

The Master's of Library Science program at Indiana University is accredited by the American Library Association.  A full curriculum of courses leading to the MLS is provided at Indianapolis as well as Bloomington. The master’s degree program of the IU School of Library and Information Science serves students in Indianapolis on the campus of IUPUI (Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis) and in Bloomington, as well as through online courses and the Virtual Indiana Classroom. Each campus has its own staff, fiscal and administrative authority, and tenure process. The program as a whole is accredited by the American Library Association.
