Learning Commons Operation Manager


LEARNING COMMONS OPERATIONS MANAGER: The Learning Commons in Perry Library is a collaborative venture with University Libraries, Office of Computing and Communications Services (OCCS) and the University College.  A Learning Commons Governance Team has been established to provide direction and oversee the operation of the facility.  This position is responsible for managing the daily operations, services and staffing of the Learning Commons in Perry Library.  This new position will join the Governance Team and be an integral part of the leadership in establishing a dynamic new collaborative program for students, faculty and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required:  Project management experience; supervisory experience; broad computer applications knowledge and experience; customer service experience; knowledge of research resources; master's degree in related field or bachelor's degree with experience that equates to a master's degree; demonstrated technical knowledge; demonstrated training/teaching ability to train staff and public on services and equipment;  expertise in managing, coaching and developing staff; excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills; ability to deal with ambiguity; excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills to communicate with diverse populations; commitment to highly responsive customer service in all environments, knowledge of issues in undergraduate and graduate education; demonstrated customer focus and process improvement.   Preferred: Public service library experience; Web 2.0 experience.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary range is $53,000-55,000.  Excellent benefits package.
