Head of Cataloging and MetaData Services

The Oberlin College Library seeks an innovative, experienced
cataloger/supervisor to join its Main Library Technical Services
Staff. This is a full-time, 12-month Administrative and Professional
Staff position, reporting to the Associate Director of Libraries. The
incumbent will work with seven paraprofessional staff trained in
traditional areas of monographic acquisitions, cataloging, and
materials preparations not only to maintain current workflows and
skills, but also to collectively develop new workflows and institute
training programs for new skills needed in a more unified technical
services team. Working in tandem with the Head of Electronic and
Continuing Resources, the incumbent will work to assure that the
organization, management, and skill levels of the Technical Services
staff evolve to meet new challenges, including innovative description
and subject analysis support for rapidly expanding special and digital
collections programs, database integration and integrity, RDA training
and implementation, collection management support, and support of and
participation in numerous consortial collaborations. For more
