Position Title: Electronic Records Archivist

Wisconsin Historical Society: The Library-Archives Division of the Wisconsin Historical Society, located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, holds a premier research collection on North American history, with library holdings of three million items and archival holdings of over 100,000 cubic feet, plus a variety of formats and media

Job Duties: The Electronic Records Archivist works with other public records staff in a major program designed to manage public records in digital format. It supports the work of the State Archives by guiding efforts to acquire, preserve, and make accessible electronic records and other information systems from Wisconsin state and local governments and by providing direct assistance to state agency personnel in the area of managing electronic records and access systems

The ideal applicant will have a broad knowledge of archival or records management standards, methods, theory, and practice; knowledge of electronic records concepts and processes; knowledge of developing trends and standards for government records and publications information architecture; and, knowledge of metadata standards, XML, database platforms, and programming languages.
