Assistant/Associate Librarian Liaison to School of Public and Non-profit Administration (Grand Rapids, MI)


Grand Valley State University Libraries invite applications for two full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Librarians. Duties will include providing virtual and traditional reference assistance, library instruction, and performing collection development. The liaison to the English Department will be located at the Zumberge Library on GVSU's main campus in Allendale, MI and the liaison to the School of Public and Non-profit Administration will be located at the Steelcase Library on GVSU’s Pew Campus in Grand Rapids, MI. These positions will require some evening and weekend hours.

Requirements: Master of Library Science degree from an ALA accredited institution; exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work in a team environment; strong commitment to public service.

Desired qualifications for Liaison to the English Department: undergraduate or graduate degree in the humanities preferably in English; experience providing reference and instruction in an academic library setting; experience with collection development. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, and an understanding of the GVSU campus mission, the potential to fulfill the requirements for promotion and tenure, and the ability to work in a team-based organization.

Desired qualifications for Liaison to the School of Public and Non-profit Administration: undergraduate or graduate degree in public and non-profit administration or business; experience providing reference and instruction in an academic library setting; experience with collection development; experience working in allied health library environments. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, and an understanding of the GVSU campus mission, the potential to fulfill the requirements for promotion and tenure, and the ability to work in a team-based organization.
