Smith College seeks a Science Reference Librarian to provide instruction, reference, and collection development support services to faculty and students in the sciences and engineering. Additional responsibilities include developing content for assigned subject Science Library Web pages and other Web-based resources and services; participating in the Libraries’ development, adoption and implementation of innovative digital services and projects; acting as library liaison to selected science departments; and assisting in developing the science collection and resources.

Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong commitment to public service; knowledge of current issues and methods of library instruction/information literacy; awareness of new technologies and trends and their applications for library services; familiarity with general science reference resources in all formats and the information needs and practices of scientists; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to work flexibly, independently and collaboratively with colleagues and library users in a rapidly changing service-oriented environment; some computer programming skills desirable.
