Regional Branch Manager

The St. Louis Public Library is looking for a Regional Branch Manager to join the management team. The ideal candidate for this position must have excellent supervisory skills to manage the day-to-day operation of a very busy regional branch. This person would be responsible for the supervision of two neighborhood branches. It is essential that the person in this position be able to direct the activities of others, while maintaining excellent customer relations within the branch. Must have superior abilities in the area of reference and reader’s advisory. Also, will have the knowledge of reference tools, bibliographic sources, cataloging and classification systems and the ability to apply this knowledge to assigned areas of responsibility. Should possess organizational and report writing skills, attention to detail is required. Operational support in the areas of circulation, statistical reporting, opening and closing of the branch, collection development, presentations and directing daily branch operations. Must strong professional skills in community outreach and programming. Should be able to meet deadlines and follow Policies and Procedures. Experience working with diverse populations is a plus. Verbal, written and computer skills are mandatory. An MLS Degree from an ALA accredited program and three years of library experience is required.
